2017 Voice of The Day 09 Covenants: Highway To Exemption 4 Genesis 22:7
And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? KJV
Today, let's look at the instruments of sacrifice that Abraham took with him and the significance to our journey of faith in 2017. These were the Wood, the Fire and the Knife. These were symbols of a sacrifice and a loss of life. Each time they come together, a life is lost;
Abraham was experienced with these equipments in offering sacrifices.
Did the reality hit him that he would have to go through the same motion he had always gone with the goats with his own son whom he loved? Hold him down, put a knife to his throat, hold him down forcefully as he struggles and keep cutting until he dies?
What a tough motion that would have been for Abraham!
Cutting covenants with God is not cheap but it is the guarantee of a future where no future exists. Would you be willing to walk this path with him; to give Him your best so He can release His best to you in return?

- He knew how he slaughtered the goats for sacrifices.
- He knew how when he cuts the throat, blood sprouts and gushes out like a pressured tap of water.
- He knew how the goats struggled and cried for their lives and how he forcefully held them down to finish the killing
- He knew how life slowly drained out of the goats as they breathed their last.
- He knew how he usually would arrange the wood, light the fire and roast the flesh
