2017 Voice of The Day 10                                                                              Covenants: Highway To Exemption 5                                                                  Genesis 22:7 

And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? KJV

Today, we will explore what I call the Ominous Rehearsals.

• When Abraham took the wood, the fire and the knife, what was on his mind? Was he rehearsing the process on his mind? What occupied his thoughts for the three days?
• Just as he rehearsed the killing process on his mind, was he rehearsing how to tell the young men he travelled with, of Isaac's whereabouts especially because he told them they were both coming back after worshipping God?
• Was he rehearsing how to explain the boy's disappearance to Sarah? How do you tell a woman who had already told the world that laughed at her before to laugh with her that her source of laughter was gone?
• How was he to look at Isaac when it was time to bind him for slaughter after he had told the boy God will provide himself a lamb for sacrifice?
• What kind of conversation could have gone down between father and son at the point of being tied, laid on the altar and knife raised?

These rehearsals would have been hellish for Abraham but God left him alone until the last count before He intervened. Wow!
Many of us will need extra grace to get to this point. It is indeed scary to imagine any of us tested to this point?!

However, this is the secret of the Abrahamic covenant. If you want to flow in the Abrahamic dimension of blessings, a covenant is the sure highway! 

The good news is that God won't ask for either your life or that of your beloved. The only person that needs to die has died and resurrected. Glory to God!

PRAYERS: Father, on this walk of faith, I need your grace more than ever before. Empower me to live to please you like Abraham did in Jesus name.
